Add a custom domain

Oode provides a personalised URL for your storefront. However, if you’re subscribed to the PRO plan, you can use any custom domain you own.

If you have an old domain you’ve been using and want to switch to Oode to experience a more comprehensive business platform, you won’t have to worry about losing your audience! All they have to do is type in your old domain name and get directed to your brand new Oode storefront.

To add your custom domain, simply head to Settings on the left panel of your dashboard and select Custom domain. Then, proceed to the following steps:

Step 1: Add Your Custom Domain

In the Custom domain page, you'll find a field to enter your custom domain name (e.g., www.yourdomain.com). Enter your domain name and click the Submit button.

Step 3: Add DNS Records

To ensure your custom domain works seamlessly with Oode, you need to add specific DNS records to your domain's DNS management. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to your domain DNS management account (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap...).
  2. Find the option to add a new DNS record and select the record type as "A."
  3. In the "Label," "Host," or "Name" field, enter "@" (without the quotes). This represents the root domain (mindfulhealingtherapy.com).
  4. In the "Target," "Destination," or "Points to" field, enter the IP address: 3.10.93.238.
  5. Set the "TTL" (time to live) to 3600 or use the default value. Note: If you are using Cloudflare, please ensure that the proxy (orange cloud) is disabled for this A record.
  6. Save your DNS record. The changes may take up to 48 hours to go into effect, but it usually happens much sooner.

Step 3: Check

After adding the DNS records, you can check if your custom domain is correctly integrated with Oode. Simply type www.mindfulhealingtherapy.com in your web browser and see if it leads you to your Oode storefront.

If it works as expected, congratulations! Your custom domain is now successfully connected to your Oode account. Now, your audience can access your brand new Oode storefront by simply typing in your old domain name.
